AUI Student Handbook

The mission of the Mohammed VI Library (M6L) is to support and to enhance learning, teaching, and research at AUI. The M6L supports intellectual inquiry, discovery, and learning by developing its collections, providing spaces for collaborative learning or individual reflection, facilitating research, offering instruction on the effective and ethical use of information resources, and organizing special lecture series and workshops for the AUI community.

The Mohammed VI Library is a founding member of AMICAL, a consortium of libraries of 30 American style international universities, and a founding member of the Catalogue des bibliothèques du Maroc, and the Réseau de Centres de documentation virtuels sur le développement humain (RCDV-DH).

Library special features include large reading rooms, workshop areas, Active Learning Spaces for student group work (bookable online through the library’s website), two silent study areas, in addition to copying, printing, and scanning facilities. The library’s website provides access to its online catalog, journals, and databases: http://www.aui.ma/library/. Students can use the website to book consultations with librarians for support in research.

The M6L Mohammed VI library currently provides access to many resources for your research, including over 75,000 print books and over 1.5 million eBooks. In addition, it offers access to databases, journals, and many other resources. These resources are easily searched through OneSearch and are accessible from anywhere through the library’s website (http://www.aui.ma/library/). The M6L also provides digital textbooks through the University Bookstore.

Physical resources are accessible onsite daily, except holidays, for up to 16 hours, or longer during exam periods. Open book stacks encourage browsing, with long-term borrowing arrangements for faculty and graduate students.

In addition to the provision of resources and services that support the University’s educational mission, the Mohammed VI Library also houses important physical and electronic collections of enduring historical value in its Archives & Special Collections.
