Al Akhawayn Health Center is staffed with 4 doctors, 4 nurses, a doctor and a nurse are on standby to provide medical attention 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The health Center is in building 26, on the ground floor, offering accessible medical services during operating hours from 08:30 AM to 11:00 PM. However, medical consultations are available from 09:00am to 06:00 PM.

If you require urgent medical attention or face an emergency after working hours, please get in touch either with the Hall Director by (Men-ext. 555, Women-ext. 3333) or the security by (-ext. 2222) or even the nurse on duty @ (2057).
Regulation regarding medical certificates
Short-term illnesses and minor injuries do not yield medical certificates to justify absences.
The health Center physicians will only recognize absences that have been justified and authorized by them. Therefore, any external medical certificate must be validated by one of the health Center physicians.
The student must check with the health Center and receive permission before consulting an external physician and acquiring a certificate.
It is mandatory to submit these certificates to the health Center within the first 48 hours (about 2 days) for validation.

When submitting a medical certificate from an external physician, it must be accompanied by a supporting document such as (medical prescription, blood test results, or radiological reports…).
In the province of Ifrane; only certificates issued by the health Center will be accepted.
During finals period, the health Center will not provide medical certificates except in case of extreme emergency or hospitalization.
Dental Care
In addition to other health care services, dental care services are offered to the AUI community.

Medical Partners:
To ensure that students receive prompt medical attention in emergency situations that require further medical testing or hospitalization, the University has established partnerships with all Moroccan Military Hospitals, Annakhil Polyclinic, Albadie Polyclinic as well as Avicenne Clinic in Fez.
A referral from AUI Health Center medical staff members is required to access this service.
Important Notes
- If students are too unwell to leave their room, the Hall Director will arrange for a van with security to take them to the health Center.
- During Cold weather precautions will be taken to ensure the student’s safety.
- Please be aware that medical doctors cannot go into a student’s room except in life-threatening situations.
Insurance
Total coverage (prise-en-charge) of 100% is provided through the health insurance only in the following cases and in accordance with contract terms:
- Illness requiring immediate hospitalization.
- Accidental injuries that occur on campus.
*Other medical expenses are reimbursed at a rate of up to 80% and according to contractual terms and ceilings. Please check with the insurance office for details. Contact us : Building 1, Human Resources Office.
